For this project I created a mutant creature suit for performer Adam Meir as well as two puppet heads for close-up shots of roaring and getting hit with weapons. The head was sculpted and molded, but the body was hand-fabricated.

The suit version. The silicone mask has a fiberglass underskull attached to a skullcap on the actor to reduce the weight.

Puppet head #2

painting the body and heads in one hectic night

Quick silicone skin fab over the foam muscles.
Tina Roland creates the spine, ribs and some muscles.

These foam muscles are the foundation for the silicone skin work on the body.

The epoxy fiberglass head mold.
Molding the head sculpture. The clay wall that will form side 1. Side 1 then forms side 2.

The head sculpture. I closed the mouth into a neutral position before molding so that it could both open and close. If I had molded it like this the mouth would have warped weirdly when closing.
